Occupational Therapy

The Occupational Therapy Department consists of knowledgeable licensed Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants.

 

Occupational Therapists assess students and develop individualized treatment plans to enhance motor development, sensory integration, visual perception and Activities of Daily Living. Our goal is to assist students in achieving academic, functional and vocational independence. Occupational Therapists collaborate with parents/ guardians, special educators and related service personnel to ensure a holistic approach to treatment and to maximize generalization of skills within school and home environments.

 

Occupational Therapy can be provided on an individual, group or consultative basis, according to the students IEP, to address each child’s specific needs. Treatment may take place within a therapy room, classroom or special activity area to promote functional skill acquisition across a variety of settings.
