Children’s
Center of Monmouth County offers an Adult Services Program to improve life
enhancing skills in adults requiring on-going support.
The Children's Center is an approved Real Life Choices provider and
DDD qualified.

Participant Profile
|
The Adult Services Program recognizes that continuation of services will be
required for some individuals upon graduation from the school system. The
Children’s Center provides a program that is located on the campus to
maintain accessibility to the services and community resources that have
already been established as part of our school community.
The Adult Program recognizes the unique characteristics of each
individual. Programs are designed to fit the cognitive levels and physical
needs of the adults in the program.
Our program includes those individuals with a diagnosis of:
- Autism.
- Multiple disabilities.
- Moderate to severe cognitive and physical disabilities.

Program Definition
|
The Adult Program Center utilizes a newly renovated facility which can
provide a climate controlled environment for those participants with medical
and physical restrictions. For those who participate in the community, the
Center serves as a home base for recreation and leisure activities.
Center based activities include:
- On-campus enclaves to provide active participation in the Children’s
Center community.
- Operation of small businesses with profits distributed to the adult
participants.
- Self care and independent living.
- Socialization Groups.
- Physical health and safety.
- Communication skill building.
Community based activities include:
- Shopping for daily living needs.
- Dining out.
- Recreation and leisure activities to encourage health and fitness.
- Volunteer work.

Staffing & Consultation
|
We provide a professional staff experienced in Adult Program Development.
Personal Care Assistants are fully trained by the Adult Program Professional
Staff. Family Consultations and a Parent Training Program are available.

Program Consultation
|
Qualified Professionals provide program consultation in:
- Mealtime management.
- Behavior management.
- Seating and positioning.
In the event of an emergency, on-site nursing is available.

Program Options
|
The Adult Program is designed to meet
the needs of both the participants and
their families.
All participants are screened and follow
an intake procedure to ensure the appropriate program match.
Participants can choose from a variety of program placements including
full, half day or a 2 to 3 day per week option.
Decisions can be made on a month-to-month basis with a one month notice.

Schedule of Service Fees
|
The Adult Program is privately operated and committed to providing the
highest possible quality services at reasonable costs to its participants.
All fees will be established dependent upon the program and services
provided.

Adult Services Program

...utilizes a Community Resource Center located on the campus of the
Children’s Center of Monmouth County. Our facility includes a gymnasium,
greenhouse, gardens, and apartment.
Our staff is available to speak at parent support groups and transition
